something is missing

I found out why my model C timer is broken...the guts are missing. I guess I can't send it away to be repaired if there are no parts in it to repair. Or can I? Who would make new parts? Or does someone have a spare C with a spare timer? What do I do now?

I had this guy rebuild my timer:

I'm pretty sure he can put new "guts" into yours - I remember him telling me he might have to do that to mine if it weren't rebuildable.

He's not cheap, but then again, neither are the elusive Model C timers.

I have an experiment going concerning a timer.
I have a 61C and the timer did not work.
an old friend used to repair clocks in his spare
time. Told me I might be able to use kitchen
timers for the clock works.
My timer is made by the Lux Clock Mfg. Co.
I have just purchased two different styles of
Mirro KItchen timer made by the Lux Clock Co.
If it is the same works and the dial will fit
I will let you know.
They are cheap on eBay.
I am gambling if it works everyone will have a
cheap source for Chambers.

Pokey, That is what the rebuilder does on the Chambers timers. I tried to get him to tell me which timer was a good canidate and he wouldn't. The small problem is that most of the "egg" timers are short ring, while the original Chambers(LUX/Robertshaw) was a long ring. Don't spend money on the new ones, they are plastic gears and wont hold up to the heat. Oh, I forgot, the rebuilder told me that he can no longer get replacement main springs for the Lux, that's why he has to put modified movements in the rebuilt timers.
